Optional Enhancements

SAF Security Interface

Our z/VSE software now supports logon/logoff and other features of IBM's Basic Security Manager. We have also added complete support for CA-Top Secret as well as any other product that uses the standard System Authorization Facility (SAF) interface. For years, CONDOR has supported the SAF interface for z/OS; now that it is becoming a standard for z/VSE, we are supporting SAF under both operating systems.

COLS80 Command

The COLS80 command is now available for CONDOR users. Display fonts in the wide screen are smaller and more difficult to read than the font used for a 24 x 80 screen. The COLS80 command is a toggle that disables wide screen support for those screens that do not accommodate more than 80 columns. This feature is in response to the many model 5 terminal users who prefer to see a larger font when only 80 columns are used. The COLS80 command is included with CONDOR 12.1/19.1 and is implemented as zap number 923 on our FTP site for CONDOR 12.0/19.0. Download files M1200923.zap (z/OS) and D1900923.zap (z/VSE). Due to the large size of this patch, it is also available as a REXX program. See files M120xxxx.rex (z/OS) and D190xxxx.rex (z/VSE).

REXX Language Interface

Nearly all the functionality of the REXX programming language is now available to CONDOR users. Cut down on your learning curve. If you know REXX, you don't need to learn a new programming language to interface with CONDOR.
  • The REXX interface makes your conversion process easier than ever.
  • Program specialized functions in REXX.
  • Host command environment adds new functionality to the REXX language.
